For Montréal law firms
Most law-firm website templates are written for common-law provinces and quietly break in Québec. Wrong vocabulary, wrong process, wrong professional structure, and an English-first build in a French-first market. A rebuild starts from how Québec law actually works and how Québec clients actually search, then handles the second language properly rather than as a bolt-on.

Montréal legal market
Québec runs on civil law, and the vocabulary is genuinely different. Clients search for mise en demeure, and for the specific terms the Code uses, not for the common-law equivalents an imported template will be built around. A site using the wrong words is not just imprecise, it is invisible to the searches that matter.
The professional structure is different too. Notaires and avocats do different work, and a client who needs one and lands on the other has been failed by the website. Firms that explain the distinction plainly on a page pick up traffic from people trying to work out who to call.
Language is not optional here. French-first is the default for a Montréal practice, with English handled properly for the clients who need it, and Loi 96 has real implications for how a business communicates. That gets scoped at the audit rather than guessed at after launch.
Where these sites lose customers
Every other firm says they are dedicated and experienced. None of those words convince a client. A short list of recent settlements (with figures, where ethics permit), and a clear practice area focus, beats an essay every time.
Personal-injury and immigration clients call. They do not fill out forms first. The phone number belongs in the header, in the hero, and at the bottom of every section. A contact form is fine as a secondary path, not the primary one.
Personal injury, immigration, family, and real estate are different searches with different intent. One page that lists all your practice areas ranks for none of them. Each area gets its own page with its own hero, its own results, and its own FAQ.
The mechanics
The mechanics that decide whether a site earns calls or just sits there.
01Top of the map
‘Roofer near me’ wins your next customer. We build to rank in the local map pack.
78%of local-service searches happen on a phone.
02On the phone first
Most find you on a phone. The whole site has to feel right at arm’s length.
03Loads before they leave
Half of mobile visitors leave a slow site before it loads.

How we’d approach a rebuild
A Montréal law firm rebuild is structured French-first, with English handled as real parallel content and proper hreflang rather than a translation widget. Practice-area pages use the vocabulary of Québec civil law, not imported common-law terms. Lawyer profiles list Barreau du Québec standing and year of call. Where the firm works alongside notaires, the site explains the distinction plainly for clients who do not know it.
Note
We also publish a generic law firms rebuild page and a working Halloran & Reid concept. Every rebuild starts with a free written audit, including the Montréal ones.

The searches happen in February. The pages have to be live by September to rank for them. What to build, why full-service accounting firm ranks for nothing, and the intake step that decides how the season actually goes.

Your brokerage page looks like four hundred colleagues' pages, ranks for nothing, and disappears the day you change firms. What an agent's own site is actually for, and the four pages that do the work.
