Calgary detailing sites that are ready before the storm, not after it.

Calgary sits in the worst hail corridor in the country, and the week after a serious storm is the highest-intent search week a detail shop will ever see. A page published the morning after does not rank in time. The shop that catches it is the one whose hail page has been sitting at a stable URL since spring.

Calgary detailing market

Two kinds of damage, both on a clock.

Hail is the event that reorganises this market. A single bad storm produces thousands of damaged vehicles, an insurance surge, and a search wave that lasts a fortnight and then stops. Shops offering paintless dent repair, or working alongside a shop that does, are fielding customers who have never made a claim before and do not know what happens first.

Gravel is the quieter, year-round version. Winter road treatment here throws a great deal of aggregate, and windshield and front-end chipping is close to universal. Paint protection film on a hood and mirrors is an easier sell in Calgary than most places, and it is usually pitched on gloss rather than on the thing the owner is actually worried about.

The third stream is fleet and truck work, which behaves like a business purchase rather than a consumer one. A contractor with eight trucks is buying a schedule, an invoice, and a single point of contact. That buyer does not want a booking widget built for a Saturday detail, and most shops have no page speaking to them at all.

Three failure modes, repeatable fixes.

  1. Premium services priced like car washes

A starting-from price of forty dollars on the homepage tells the high-end client you are the wrong shop. Ceramic coatings, paint correction, and concours-grade details are four-figure jobs. The pricing page should lead with the premium tiers and let the basic wash sit at the bottom, not the other way around.

  2. No real before-and-after for paint correction

Paint correction is the highest-margin work in detailing. It is also impossible to sell without a real before-and-after under the same light. A small library of correction shots, ideally with the swirl marks visible in the before and the reflection in the after, books more high-end work than any text ever will.

  3. Booking flow that demands a phone call

A six-hour ceramic coating cannot be scheduled with a generic contact form. The shop that lets the client pick a date, pick a package, and pay a deposit online books faster than the shop that forces a phone call. The phone is for questions, not for booking.

What changes when we rebuild a site for Calgary detail shops.

A Calgary detailing rebuild keeps a hail page live year-round, written for somebody who has just walked out to a dented car and does not know whether to call the insurer or the shop first. Chip and paint protection pages sell on the gravel season rather than on gloss. Fleet gets its own path with its own intake, monthly invoicing, and no consumer booking widget in sight.

We also publish a generic auto detailing rebuild page and a working Apex Detail Co concept. Every rebuild starts with a free written audit, including the Calgary ones.

What Calgary owners ask before they hire us.

Don’t see yours? Ask us directly.

Should we publish the price for ceramic coatings?

A starting-from per vehicle size, yes. Coupes start lower, SUVs start higher, exotics start higher still. The price filters the inquiries down to clients who can afford the work and ends up saving the shop hours of quoting calls that go nowhere.

What about mobile detailing?

A separate page from the shop service. Mobile clients have different concerns: how much water you need, whether the driveway is okay, whether the shop comes for HOA-restricted lots. One mobile page handles it without confusing the shop-service customer.

How do we show membership or monthly maintenance?

A dedicated page with the price, the schedule, the inclusions, and a one-click signup. Monthly maintenance is the most predictable revenue a detail shop has, and most shops bury the page or pretend it does not exist.

What should a hail page actually say if we are not the insurer?

Explain the sequence. What to photograph, what the claim process generally looks like, what paintless repair can and cannot fix, and how long the backlog runs after a major storm. Vehicle owners in that week are looking for somebody who has done this before, not a quote. Be careful not to promise anything about a claim outcome, since that is the insurer's call and getting it wrong costs more than the page earns.

Is fleet work worth building a separate path for?

If you want it, yes, because the consumer site actively repels that buyer. A fleet manager needs the service area, turnaround, whether you come to the yard, and how invoicing works. None of that is on a page built for a weekend detail, and the ones who do build it face almost no competition on searches that are worth several consumer bookings each.
