Premise
A nature-forward Portland preschool site built in a soft, puffy, claymorphic language. Every tile feels molded by hand — because so does the school — and the whole flow is pointed at one outcome: booking a campus tour.
Approach
Preschool websites tend to read as either stock-photo childcare franchise or design-lite admin portal. Willow & Wren is a nature-based play school for ages 18 months through five, and the brand already has a hand-made warmth to it. The site should too. We built the entire UI in a claymorphic language — soft double shadows, large radii, pastel surfaces that look pressed out of clay, and colored puffs in the margins that kids might mistake for the real classroom. The palette runs on a cream base with marigold as the primary, backed by a secondary family of sky, mint, blush, and butter for program tiles and age-group cards. That gives the homepage the feel of a well-curated toybox without slipping into cartoon. The funnel is shaped around one thing: parents booking a campus tour. The CTA appears above the fold on every page, the tour flow takes six fields and no account, and the page that matters most — programs — leads with age, ratio, daily rhythm, and tuition up front, because those are the four questions every parent asks in the first email. Accessibility is non-trivial in claymorphism: we kept text contrast at AA on every surface, used real borders as focus rings (not just shadow), and make sure every affordance works without hover.

A school that feels like the room itself.
Headlines settle, never shout. The italic adds a hand-drawn warmth. Body type sits in long line lengths so it reads like a letter from the founding director, not a marketing page.
